An earthquake of magnitude 5.4 with its epicenter in the Pacific Ocean east of Cabanatuan City at 15.324oNorth, 122.434oEast on July 6, 2008 at 8:10 pm (Manila Time). The earthquake which was off-coast has been felt in several regions up to the south western part of Luzon, in the National Capital Region where the Philippines’ capital, Metro Manila is located. The earthquake was said to be felt in various regions:
150 km (90 miles) North of San Pedro, Luzon, Philippines
165 km (100 miles) East of Cabanatuan, Luzon, Philippines
175 km (110 miles) East North-East of MANILA, Philippines
205 km (125 miles) North North-West of Naga, Luzon, Philippines
45 minutes later, a Magnitude 5.1 on the Richter Scale was registered in nearly the same epicenter at 15.277oNorth, 122.475oEast, just about 5 kilometers away from the earlier 5.4 Philippine earthquake.
