Mixed Martial Arts sa Pilipinas
June 5th, 2006Kung kayo po ay nanonood ng UFC o kaya ang PrideFC, dapat alam din po ninyo and sariling atin. And URCC o ang Universal Reality Combat Championship na tumutulong isulong ang manlalarong Pinoy sa paligsahan ng Mixed Martial Arts na kinikilala ding MMA.
Kahit medyo matagal na din ang mga ibang paligsahan na parang ganito gaya ng Pancreas, Greco Roman Wrestling, Vale Tudo, Brazilian Jiujutsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, napasikat ang MMA nang isulong ng UFC ang paligsahan na ito sa sumunod na antas. Ang paghahalo ng iba’t ibang uri ng pamamaraan ng pakikipag laban na konti lang ang mga batas na dapat sundan gaya ng walang tirahan sa may… (paano ko ba sasabihin ito ng maayos sa Filipino?) walang tirahan sa may betlog, at walang tusukan ng mata. Maliban dun sa dalawang batas ng paligsahan na ito, kahit ano na pwedeng gawin. Suntukan, sipaan, sakalan, puluputan, balitaan. At ang nananalo ay maaring sa paraan ng knockout, submission, surrender sa pag hagis ng puting twalya o di kaya pag naubos ang oras, mapupunta sa scrore cards.
At sa Pilipinas, hindi din magpapahuli ang mga Pinoy. Ang mga Pinoy ay magagaling din sa larong ito at pinagpapatuloy na isulong ang paligsahan sa tulong ng URCC ni Alvin Aguilar.
Noong akong nasa kolehiyo pa, ako’y naglaro ng Taekwondo at napasama sa Varsity Training Team ng De La Salle University sa ilalim ni National Team Coach na si Stephen Fernandez. At minsan, pagkatapos ng Taekwondo, at nagbibihis po ako sa gym at naka brief lang, kasalukuyang nagbibihis din si Alvin Aguilar. Kinausap ako, at sa aking pinakamagaling na pagsubok sa pagkaalala ng usapan namin, ito ang amin pinagusapan:
Alvin: You into Taekwondo?
Seoph: Yeah
Alvin: Taekwondo will not make you survive in the streets.
Seoph: Yes, I know.
Alvin: What’s your name by the way?
Seoph: I’m Joseph.
Alivin: I’m Alvin.
Seoph: I know. You teach Sarian and tambay ka sa Tau (Tau Gamma)
Alvin: Yeah, you know about us?
Seoph: Yes, I got several friends that stopped Taekwondo and moved over to Sarian and Jeet Kune Do.
Alvin: So most of your friends have tried Sarian, why don’t you try it too?
Seoph: Yeah I like it. I just to busy with a full load and the Sarian class schedules are in conflict with my classes.
Alvin: Ok, if ever you have the time, just visit our class and look for me ok?
Seoph: Sure.
Ang tinuturo ni Alvin Aguilar ay Sarian na ang ibig sabihin ay Sariling Pamamaraan. At si Alvin ay isa din sa mga naunang nagensayo ng Brazilian Jiujutsu sa ilalim sa isa sa mga pamilya ng Gracie sa Brazil at dinala ito sa Pilipinas. Sa kanyang pagaral ng makabagong pamamaraan ng pakikipaglaban at sa kanyang walang sawang pagtuturo, nagawang isulong ang larong MMA sa Pilipinas at tinayo ang training center nyang Deftac na itong style na ito ay masbinibigyan diin ang MMA na paraan ng pakikipaglaban. And sa pagpatuloy nyang isulong ang larong ito, binuo nya ang URCC at mula noon, parte na din ng Pilipinas ang MMA at may mga nakaraang paligsahan pang nakipaglaban ang mga manlalaro galing China laban sa mga manlalaro ng Pilipinas.

JKD instructors – Sir Joey sa Vito Cruz, Manila. I forgot his last name. I believe student s’ya ni Richard Bustillos, na student ni Guru Dan Inosanto, na student ni Bruce Lee.
Sarian – This means Sariling Pamamaraan. Even before nauso ang MMA sa Pilipinas, Sarian already existed. I haven’t tried Sarian, pero alam ko ang pinuno nito ay si Alvin Aguilar and nagsimula yata ito sa Parañaque. Kung tutuusin mo, Jeet Kune Do is a martial art to use what is useful, and ‘wag gawin ang hindi useful para sa iyo. Parang ganun din ang Sarian. And they use to say Sarian is for practical uses in street fighting. If you are interested in Sarian, try looking for where Alvin Aguilar is. Try checking the URCC website.

*lol* Si Alvin, hindi lang MMA and competition promoter/organizer, TV and print commercial model pa yan. Pero duda ako kung maalala pa ako nung kinausap ko n’yan dati. Pero magaling talaga yan.

I would like you to know that there is a Karate Organization in San Pablo City, Laguna a used to be colorum karate club who is inviting other martial arts to make demonstration for them and when people like the art that they have chosen in this karate club they will tell that they are the once who teach it. unfortunately they teach only karate, the name SAMURAI KARATE CLUB in fact is pioneer in the City of San Pablo but in those times they are a hoax, they maybe legitimate now but still they have vested interests and very shrewed to fool people. these club can be considered a local version of Yakuza’s because they can destroy whoever is in their path, there are numerous martial art dojos that din not succeeded because they bully them and no matter what martial art that will be put in the city must consult them first because for them they are Lords there and noone can just bypass them without their permission. so please pass this message to all of the martial arts community to warn them. obviously this people have no virtues and honor, beacuse they teach muggers, pick pocketers, holdapers and robbers, they are using kids just pretend that they teach clean but are not.

i know plenty mma….like greco-roman wrestling and muay-thai.. i want to figth in any mma here in the phillipines or in outside…sna mbigyan ako ng break..
